Trudeau’s ‘novel’ idea to fight ISIS

From the CBC, emphasis added.

“We made a clear commitment in the campaign to stop the bombing mission by Canadian jets and replace it with a role for Canada that is still a serious military role, but leaned more towards training of local troops to be able to bring the fight directly to ISIL,” he said, referring to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). “That’s the commitment we made very clearly throughout the campaign and we have a mandate to do that.”

Did he forget this news story from two-months ago?

A $500m effort to train Syrian forces against the Islamic State has resulted in only a handful of fighters actively battling the jihadi army, the top military commander overseeing the war has testified.

“We’re talking four or five,” General Lloyd Austin, commander of US Central Command, told a dissatisfied Senate armed services committee on Wednesday.

The training initiative is Barack Obama’s linchpin for retaking Syrian territory from Isis. The Pentagon anticipated in late 2014 that it would have trained 5,000 anti-Isis Syrian rebels by now.

US, with its global outreach and military infrastructure, was unable to do this and Canada is going to do down the same path? Good luck with that.

Islam’s civil war

Husain Haqqani, former Pakistani ambassador to the United States, and now a member of the Hudson Institute, wrote today in the Telegraph:

The latest terrorist attacks in Paris serve as a grim reminder that the threat of global terrorism is unlikely to end until the resolution of the civil war of ideas between Muslim modernisers and those adhering to an outmoded theology of Islamic dominance.

Just as the post-9/11 war against al-Qaeda degraded Osama bin Laden’s group but gave rise to the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (Isil), extremist Islamist ideology will likely give birth to “Terrorism 3.0” once the world has fought, contained and eliminated Isil. Security will return only after the widespread embrace of pluralism by Muslims and the defeat and marginalisation of the idea that Muslims cannot move in an orbit set by another.

This last comment brings to mind a story told be a friend of mine who had dealings with the Muslim community in a large Canadian city. The friend was dealing with Canadian Muslims of all stages of assimilation. One of them was frank enough to admit that the Koran did not allow for the peaceful cohabitation of Muslims as minorities; rather, they had to strive to dominate their environment and impose shari’a (Islamic law) on the societies where they dwelt. In short, peaceful cohabitation with Christians and others in a non-Islamic society was not part of the world view acceptable to Muslims as something provided for by the Prophet.

This is a very important aspect of our confusion and ignorance regarding Islam. Many people think that it is a religion, and therefore, since it is a religion, it will have the same effect on people as Christianity.

If they are atheists, they will think Islam causes people to believe impossible rubbish, and therefore should be tolerated in the same condescending way as they “tolerate” Chritsianity.

If they are Christians, they will probably look at Islam through Christian eyes, and since they do not understand their own religion, they will think Islam is like Christianity somehow.

It is not.

As I have said before, there are three axioms of Christian thought, and from which our civilization has flowed, which Islam rejects absolutely.

  1. That the domain of Caesar is different and distinct from the domain of God. This may seem the most powerful of differences in its implications, yet is in fact the least important, compared to the next two.
  2. That the universe is intelligible, and hence can be reasoned about. God has no power to make 2+2 equal anything but 4. For the Muslim, God is remote, unintelligible, and the only knowledge we have is what the Koran contains, and therefore God could have confused us even there, but the Koran is the only possible source of reliable knowledge.
  3. That God loves his creation, and therefore that family and social life should mirror or attempt to reflect that love. In Islam, God does not love his creatures. In turn, Islamic social and family life is not grounded in the idea of love of man for man or woman for woman, but of obedience to social custom only. There may be love in Islamic families (surely) but the religion allows you, indeed requires you, to drown your wife if she so much as offers coffee to the postman.

So when I call Islam a totalitarian social ideology, I mean what I say.

Maybe it is time for secularists to rethink some views and social attitudes towards the Christian faith.

And as the Pakistani Ambassador reminds us:

With over 1.4 billion Muslims around the globe, the swelling of the fundamentalist ranks poses serious problems. If only 1 per cent of the world’s Muslims accepts this uncompromising theology, and 10 per cent of that 1-per cent decide to commit themselves to a radical agenda, we are looking at a one million strong recruitment pool for groups such as al-Qaeda, IS and whatever comes next.

Only a concerted ideological campaign against medieval Islamist ideology, like the one that discredited and contained communism, could turn the tide.

I think that means saying rude and true things about Islam, and not just terrorists motivated my Islam.

Paris attacks and it-is-all-Bush’s-fault meme

Inevitably the leftist press will circle back and state that ‘only if Bush hadn’t attacked Iraq’ this would have never happened. With that in mind it is instructive to recall some facts.

An op-ed in the liberal NYT in 2003.

President Bush sketched an expansive vision last night of what he expects to accomplish by a war in Iraq. Instead of focusing on eliminating weapons of mass destruction, or reducing the threat of terror to the United States, Mr. Bush talked about establishing a ”free and peaceful Iraq” that would serve as a ”dramatic and inspiring example” to the entire Arab and Muslim world, provide a stabilizing influence in the Middle East and even help end the Arab-Israeli conflict.

The idea of turning Iraq into a model democracy in the Arab world is one some members of the administration have been discussing for a long time. But it is not one that Mr. Bush has devoted much effort to selling to the American people. Most Americans would certainly rally around the idea of a strong, stable and open government in Iraq. But they haven’t been prepared for the cost of such an undertaking. For most people, the vision of a new gulf war is one of relatively quick victory, not years of American occupation.

In a speech to the American Enterprise Institute, the president described an undertaking that resembled American efforts in post-World-War-II Japan and Germany. This week Gen. Eric Shinseki, the Army chief of staff, said he believed that hundreds of thousands of soldiers would have to remain on Iraqi soil to create a stable environment for democratic change. Mr. Bush, a man who ran for office scoffing at the idea of ”nation-building,” is now betting his presidency on that idea.

Notice the ‘expansive vision.. instead of focusing on eliminating weapons of mass destruction’ but for the current crop of leftist the only thing that matters is the letters W, M & D..

Joe Biden in 2010, emphasis added.

I am very optimistic about — about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration. You’re going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You’re going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government

Barrack Obama in 2011, emphasis added.

Iraq’s future will be in the hands of its people.  America’s war in Iraq will be over” he remarked.  And “Iraq is not a perfect place.  It has many challenges ahead.  But we’re leaving behind a sovereign, stable and self-reliant Iraq, with a representative government that was elected by its people.  We’re building a new partnership between our nations.

Obama and his administration took ownership of Iraq and if Iraq is one of those ‘root cause’ then the blame lies with Obama..

CBC’s Don Murray follows the Muslim attack template

On April 20, 2013 your correspondent wrote a “Template for a terrorist attack” which contained the following point.

6. Articles will appear lamenting about the inevitable oncoming brutal backlash against the Muslims although this has never occurred before. BBC – Boston bombings: Muslim Americans await bomber’s ID. As an aside, notice how some of the savvier news organisations, like BBC, thread the needle on the knotty topic of terrorist identification? They don’t want to wait to write about the brutal backlash after the terrorist have been identified in case they get relegated with the slow-moving and slow-thinking print press. They also do not want to jump the gun and identify them as Muslims because that would be, oh gosh, so judgemental, so they write about how the Muslims wait for the identity of the terrorist with trepidation and are “braced for a backlash”.

On Nov 14, 2015 CBC’s Don Murray dutifully obliges.

Taken together with the poisonous right-wing tweets, the mixture is explosive. Soon, the political truce will be broken. A backlash against French Muslims can be expected along with stoked-up right-wing rhetoric decrying the flood of Syrian refugees and migrants into Europe.

The next weeks and months in France will not be pretty.

The fact that this has not happened before despite repeated predictions is not enough to bring a semblance of common sense to leftist..

Do you know how the global warming crisis will end?

When the political class comes out of its daydream to address this. Yes, I am talking about jihadist attacks in Paris, which have claimed 140 lives so far.

I do not really care about a projected rise of 1 degree or 2 degrees centigrade over the course of the next century when the prospects of western civilization are so bleak. When is the political class going to awaken and face reality?

Witnesses described unmasked men with Kalashnikov assault rifles bursting into the middle of the concert and begin spraying bullets at attendees as they reloaded three or four times.

The onslaught lasted for maybe ten minutes as people screamed and cowered on the floor, covering their heads in a vain bid to escape the bullets, a witness told the Daily Mail

”I was in the pit at the front. I heard bangs go off. I turned round and I saw a silhouette with a cap on who was heading towards the back door,’ one witness told the newspaper Liberation.

‘He shot in my direction. People started falling and throwing themselves towards the ground’.

I look forward to the Paris global warming discussions, slated to start at the end of this month. The gap between what people are worried about and the concerns of the chattering classes have seldom been so wide.

Remember: Islam is not a religion so much as a totalitarian social ideology, which just happens to mention God a lot. At this stage of its evolution – and probably forever – It is unfit for civilized company, or, if you prefer, incapable of  peaceful co-existence.

Political right learns from the political left

Leftist politics and below-the-belt tactics, whilst simultaneously sneering at those who are right-of-centre, have always gone hand-in-hand. One example that typifies leftist politics is the Cloward-Piven strategy.

The Cloward–Piven strategy is a political strategy outlined in 1966 by American sociologists and political activists Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven that called for overloading the U.S. public welfare system in order to precipitate a crisis that would lead to a replacement of the welfare system with a national system of “a guaranteed annual income and thus an end to poverty”

Now things have gone full circle. What could possibly go wrong here?

A small crossroads village in Germany, population 102, was informed by email recently that 1000 refugees would be resettled in their town. The mayor originally believed the news to be a hoax. But sure enough, regional officials assured the mayor that the town, Sumte, would have to take nearly 10 times the number of asylum seekers than there were residents.

Maybe this?

One of the few people, in fact, who seem enthusiastic about the plan for Sumte is Holger Niemann, 32, an admirer of Hitler and the lone neo-Nazi on the elected district council. He rejoices at the opportunities the migrant crisis has offered.

“It is bad for the people, but politically it is good for me,” Mr. Niemann said of the plan, which would leave the German villagers outnumbered by migrants by more than seven to one.

On the other hand, we are talking about National Socialist here so maybe it doesn’t have anything to do with the political right. 😉

Decadence 2

An interesting article in Spiked! by Frank Furedi, called “Teaching Consent, Teaching Intimacy” is valid and worth reading on how colleges are screwing up the idea of consent to make males look like rapists. I commend it for that alone.

But down in the weeds of commentary is this gem from a JDsHandsome Son:

When a species becomes sick, lame, lazy, stupid and just too anemic to carry on, Mother Nature sends in a predator to take it out. She does this for the benefit of all the other species who might be better able to use Her valuable resources.

Western civilization has become such a collection of weak, inbred hemophiliacs, bubble boys, and snowflakes that Mother Nature is fed up with it. Her predator of choice is Islam and its legions of rabid murderous hordes taking over Europe and eventually America, both of which have shown their weariness of life and liberty. She also is staging Russia and China to provide some assistance if necessary.

Europe is being colonized with military aged men streaming across the continent and who will soon be slaughtering its fragile native born eunuchs, geldings and neurotic females too pathetic to any longer even manage their intimate lives without being told by others how to act. As soon as the invaders are settled in government provided housing and the benefits checks start to roll in to their accounts, they will begin to protest their treatment. After that, they’ll start thinning out the European herd by murdering their hosts.

We in America can only hope enough brain dead citizens here can wake up and overthrow the progressive stupidity, such as this ridiculous “consent” nonsense, that has seized this once proud nation. Perhaps more images of UK citizens beheaded on London streets in broad daylight as other citizens saunter around the bodies like farm animals sniffing the carcasses before being nudged to their slop buckets will open those sleepy eyes.

French train terror attack heroes targeted?

Oct 2, 2015
Umpqua Community College shooting

In a taped interview with Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday, Skarlatos said he was supposed to be in the building where Thursday’s shooting took place.

“I had classes in Snyder Hall,” said Skarlatos.”It’s a fairly small community college, the town in general, everybody knows each other. So with that many deceased, I mean everybody’s going to know at least one person.”

Sacramento stabbing

.Spencer Stone, hailed as a hero after a French train terror attack, has been stabbed in Sacramento, California.

He is currently in a stable condition and is being treated at a local hospital, an Air Force official confirmed to the BBC.

CBS News first reported that he was “stabbed repeatedly” on a Sacramento street corner on Thursday morning.

Mr Stone, 25, is one of three Americans that helped to thwart a terror attack on a French train in August.

Ian Fleming – “Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action.”

So we wait.

Putin shows how to fight a war in Middle East

From BBC:

Activists and residents there said IS cancelled Friday prayers and emptied mosques across the city amid fears of further strikes.

Can anybody see the same happening if these had been NATO air strikes instead of Russian air strikes? In fact, we would have seen the opposite, with fighters congregating in mosques to escape.
