It is almost always a bad policy not to take prisoners, but sometimes an insurgency has to be cruel to be effective.

Playing with viruses
A beautiful house with a view over the lake was destroyed years ago by the grandchildren playing with matches under the deck, right out of a parent’s nightmare. But what if the grandchildren are adults, scientists, virologists, playing with deadly viruses, with no goal in mind other than seeing what they can do with genetic recombinatory technologies?
Well folks, that appears to be exactly what happened with COVID.
According to an article in the National Post this morning,
Wuhan and U.S. scientists were planning to create entirely new coronaviruses that did not exist in nature by combining the genetic code of other viruses, proposals show.
Documents leaked last month of a grant application submitted to the U.S. Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), reveal that the international team of scientists was planning to mix genetic data of closely related strains, and grow new viruses.
A genetics expert working with the World Health Organization who uncovered the plan after studying the proposals in detail said that if Sars-CoV-2 had been produced in this way, it would explain why a close match in nature has never been found. So far, the closest naturally occurring virus to Sars-CoV-2 is a strain called Banal-52, which was found in Laos last month and shares 96.8 per cent of the genome. Scientists expect a direct ancestor to be about a 99.98 per cent match, and none has been found so far. The DARPA proposals, which were leaked to Drastic, the pandemic origins analysis group, show that the team had planned to take sequences from naturally occurring coronaviruses and use them to create a brand new sequence, which was an average of all the strains.Explaining the proposal, a WHO collaborator who asked not to be named for fear of reprisals, said that the team planned to “take various sequences from similar coronaviruses, and create a new sequence that is essentially the average of them… They would then synthesize the viral genome from the computer sequence, thus creating a virus genome that did not exist in nature, but looks natural – as it is the average of natural viruses.”The proposal, which was not funded, was submitted by the British zoologist Peter Daszak on behalf of a consortium including Daszak EcoHealth Alliance, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the University of North Carolina and Duke NUS in Singapore. The WHO source said: “If Sars-CoV-2 comes from an artificial consensus sequence composed of genomes with 95 per cent similarity to each other… I would predict that we will never find a really good match in nature and just a bunch of close matches across parts of the sequence, which so far is what we are seeing. The problem is that those opposed to a lab-leak scenario will always just say that we need to sample more… Scientists overall are afraid of discussing the issue of the origins due to the political situation. This leaves a small and vocal minority of biased scientists free to spread misinformation.” Daszak, a member of the WHO team investigating the pandemic origins, was also behind a letter published in The Lancet, which dismissed suggestions that COVID-19 did not have a natural origin as a conspiracy theory.
So the guy behind the claims that COVID has a natural origin was also the lead in the proposal to create the frankenvirus. There is more to come in this tale of conflicts of interest, bad faith, and cosmic arrogance.
Unfortunately, as I am not the Master of the Universe, I cannot have Daszak hanged for crimes against humanity.
Peter Daszak, virologist, and possible author of COVID-19
Watch Daszak assert that there is no evidence that the virus leaked from the Wuhan lab, which he claimed was “well built, well designed and well run.” The whole CNN piece is carefully designed to make you believe COVID came from an animal market. But Daszak was interested in not finding the truth if it meant the virology lab leaked COVID, or if evidence led back to his possible involvement in the viral research that created the COVID blend.
Elite failure, and lots of it, with more coming
Now that the Swamp has won the US election, we are presented almost daily with evidence that technological, bureaucratic, political, judicial and media elites will run rampant for the next four years, unopposed by the man in the White House. I call it failing upward. Everyone knows a person or two who rise from one position to the next, failing in every post (by any reasonable standard of success) and yet continually rising to greater and more respnsible positions. But an entire social class of experts rising through demonstrable failure? This is new, to me at least.
Two articles today on the same theme, one from Unherd, the other from American Digest, citing the brave dissenter, David Warren.
Jacob Siegel in Unherd says it best:
“The first important lesson from the past year is that this revolt against the experts is not a fringe phenomenon driven by QAnon loons, hysterical anti-vaxxers and other untouchables. It is widespread and its consequences are already profound. On the surface, people are simply rejecting the authority of institutions such as the CDC, which now openly advocates for racial preferences and places political calculations before the public good. But beneath that rejection, there is a cultural shift at the level of animating beliefs.
“For millions of people, a disenchantment has broken the spell which upheld their faith in rational, scientific knowledge as the best means to tame the natural chaos of reality and administer the business of society. On top of all the other disenchantments undermining America’s founding myths, this one erodes the foundation on which the entire technocratic regime of modern society rests.
“Given the rather obvious importance of public health officials in the midst of a pandemic, why not seek to replace them with a better class of expert, instead of attacking the basis of expertise? The answer to that is in the second lesson of 2020: far from losing status after the repeated errors and deceptions of the past year, America’s institutional elite is more powerful than ever….
“If you are one of the people or organisations which repeatedly got the coronavirus wrong, abetted wanton political violence and destruction, or once again misread the American electorate, odds are very good that your funding streams, political influence, institutional power and leverage over your fellow Americans are going increase over the next four years of the Biden administration.”
Remember to follow the science. A BLM mobor a march against white racism is outdoors and poses no health risk, whereas a religious congregation is indoors and constitutes a grave health hazard. Funny that, eh? People are treating science as a set of papal encyclicals rather than a rude, rough and bumptious struggle of ideas in actual contest. The authority being exercised over people meeting and congregating is supposedly based in “science”, but which seems to work only in one direction.
Thus religion must be suppressed in the name of public safety. David Warren gets it right, as usual.
“That every conceivable human evil may be advanced by methods of social isolation, has been this year’s “breakthrough” rediscovery, and points to its ultimate authorship, Below.
“In Ontario, for instance, under a simpleton premier, almost all human interaction is banned, except that of mass-market retailing. Starting on the Feast of Stephen (December 26th), familiar visitors to our households will become liable to fines of up to 100,000 Canadian dollars, and up to one year in gaol.
“While such lockdowns have been shown to have no effect whatever on the transmission of viruses already widely disseminated, wherever they have been studied, they are imposed as if they were “science,” by petty, and very sleazy, politicians. In no civilized jurisdiction had they such personal authority. But they are thrilled to discover that they can get away with it; that a public systematically misinformed, and deprived of prompt, decisive legal recourse, will obey their edicts, and thereby submit to enslavement. Throughout history, those willing to be enslaved, have been enslaved.”
To Jacob Siegel of Unherd once more
“Regime loyalty is the herd immunity of the ruling class, a protection against the consequences of their own failures. This is why the loss in authority that manifests in the “crisis of experts”, while real, doesn’t diminish their power. But it’s also why the regime has to become more ideological and nakedly coercive — for a kingdom of experts without reliable expertise falls back on propaganda and state power.”
Ho ho ho! Is the cat out of the bag?
- The virus came from a type of bat, according to a report by Chinese scientists.
- The bat is not native to Wuhan but comes from 300 miles away.
- Two centres of disease research are near the Wuhan wet market from which the virus was held to have originated.
- The two centres for viral research use this particular type of bat in their research.
- This information comes from a report by Chinese scientists that has been on the web for the past two months.
- The American National Institute of Health and other flak-catchers for the Chinese government have denounced in vigorous terms any suggestion this virus was an escaped bioweapon.
- The Chinese government has accused the American government of starting this plague.
In the old language of Mao, we have some running dogs of the Chinese government in the west, and they do not even have to be told what to do, so obedient are they to the requirements of political correctness .
